I like this app because not only does it keeps up with your casual movements, total steps taken and how long you've walked, but it also keeps track of how long throughout the day you were actually active. So it's better for people who tend to lie to themselves about how physically active they actually are.
Let me explain some of its capabilities I have learned through the active features on the Samsung health app, and what I found is just shocking. MyFitnessPal is a super popular food tracking app, but I dare say that Samsung health not only does the same thing but does it in a far more efficient way. Samsung Health app calculates calories, vitamins, minerals, and other micronutrients, which is a feature I think is super cool about this app.
Does your phone calculate how long you sleep? Samsung Health app does this based on how long you have your phone down at night. Now, what's really cool is that you can manually change this if your phone is off. But the one problem I had with it is that if you take a nap throughout the day, you can't add that into your calculations. I wasn’t able to figure out how to do that yet, so it could just be my ignorance versus the app’s capabilities. Of course, there's a section in the app where you can manually record your weight and this way you can see your progress over time. Another cool thing about this app is that it allows the phone's fingerprint reader to monitor your heart rate. And not only can you monitor your heart rate, but you can also measure your oxygen levels and your stress levels. With all of the categories in this app, you're able to track your progress over time. So if you have a goal to reduce your weight or stress level, this app will help you do so. This app also tells you on a day-to-day basis how you're doing with your fitness goals - if you need to exercise more, if you should intake more water, if you should sleep more or less, Samsung Health app suggests you all that. It tells you so much more than just how many steps you've taken and how many calories you've eaten (It does that too), and I can’t stress this enough. This free Samsung Health app is certainly worth the download.
